Description
Meibomian glands are situated on the eyelid margins. These glands secrete an oil which covers the tear film to prevent the tears from evaporating. In Meibomian Gland Dysfunction the oil is thickened and the glands can get blocked and inflamed, leading to evaporative dry eye. Hot compresses followed by eyelid massage can help to unblock the glands and express the oil which allows good quality oil to be produced.
Heyedrate Eye Mask can be used as a warm compress for the treatment of MGD and dry eye or as a cold compress for allergies, sinuses, or puffiness.
