Description
TheraTears Lubricant Eye Drops are preservative-free and comes in single-use containers. They are designed to saturate dry eyes, while diluting down the high salt concentration that can cause dry-eye irritation. So to treat dry eyes, “saturation dosing” is the way to start — use one container for both eyes within a 5 minute period and repeat 4 times a day (i.e. 8 am, 12 noon, 3 pm and 6 pm).
How does TheraTears lubricant eye drops work differently from other products on the market?
- Patients feel the difference in their eyes. Perform the ‘rub test’. Put a drop of TheraTears lubricant eye drops on one of your index fingers and a drop of another leading brand on your other index finger. Now rub your index fingers against your thumbs for 30 sec to a minute. Feel the difference.
- Dryness occurs because the tear film (tears) is losing water. With the decrease in water volume the salt content of the tears increases. This salt builds up on the surface of the eye and can cause the sandy, scratchy, gritty irritation that occurs in patients with dry eyes. TheraTears lubricant eye drops is hypotonic so it not only lubricates the eyes but, over time, it helps to dilute the extra salt and rehydrate the eyes.
- Advanced Vision Research scientists were able to analise the electrolyte balance of the human tear film and TheraTears lubricant eye drops virtually matches this. There are clinical studies that show TheraTears lubricant eye drops provides cumulative long lasting dry eye relief that really works.
Who can use TheraTears lubricant eye drops?
TheraTears lubricant eye drops can be used by contact lens wearers, computers users, people taking various medications with side effects i.e. anti-depressants, antihistamines, oral contraceptives and anti-inflammatory drugs for arthritis.
